Baseball Drops Four Games To St. Charles CC

Pirates Baseball dropped a pair of Region 16 games on Thursday to St. Charles CC 9-5 and 12-4 at Hickman High School in Columbia, MO.  Saturday, the Pirates dropped two more games to St. Charles.  Final scores were 6-3 and 17-9.

The team's overall record sits at 3-14 with a 2-8 record in region play.

It was a windy day for baseball.  While this helped the Pirates bats knock 5 home runs in the doubleheader, the offensive boost wasn't enough to cover errors on defense and a tenacious St. Charles attack.  The Pirates committed a total of 8 errors and were outhit 19-13 on the day.  Free passes from Pirates pitching also helped set the table for St. Charles.  The combination of 13 walks and 5 hit batsmen was too much to overcome.

Taking losses on the mound were sophomores Brandon Whitehead and Angel Reyes.  Leading the way offensively for NCMC was Kendrick Delima.  The went 4-6 with a homer and raised his season batting average to a team best .400.

Details of Saturday's games were not available.

Next the Pirates head to Myrtle Beach, SC for their spring trip.  All contests will take place at the Ripken Experience and the team is slated to play 6 total games.
