Pirates Drop Pair Of Games To 5th Ranked Jefferson College

Pirates Baseball dropped a pair of Region 16 road games on Friday to 5th ranked Jefferson College.  Final scores of the games were 14-1 and 15-1 and the losses drop the Pirates overall record to 3-10 on the season.

Freshman Logan Eickhoff provided the one bright spot for the Pirates offense going 2-5 with a double and 2 runs scored.  As a team, the Pirates were outhit 23-6 in the games.  Defense also let down the Pirates as they committed 11 errors in the doubleheader.  Pitching struggled to work around those errors and allowed 20 total earned runs, 9 unearned.

Next action for the Pirates will be a neutral site doubleheader at Lathrop High School against St. Charles Community College.  First pitch is set for 10:30am.  These games were originally scheduled to be played at Burleigh Grimes Field but due to poor field conditions have been moved.  Tuesday's game at Highland Community College has also been cancelled and a makeup date has not been set.
