Pirates Teach Clinic At The KC Urban Youth Academy

The North Central Missouri College baseball team recently took a trip to Kansas City, MO to put on a clinic at the Kansas City MLB Urban Youth Academy.  Clinic attendees ranged in age from 8-18 years old and the Pirates players and coaching staff helped to teach them the fundamentals of the game.

"The mission and vision of the academy aligns well with what we like to teach our players.  Baseball can be a platform for learning life lessons and becoming better people," commented Assistant Coach Ryan Suttenfield.

The Kansas City MLB Urban Youth Academy is a non-profit organization with the mission to empower Kansas City's underserved youth ages 6-18 through baseball and softball, academic and social opportunities to be the leaders of tomorrow.

Pirates alumnus and NCMC Athletics Hall of Fame member Cle Ross was instrumental in helping the Pirates setup the clinic.  His continued support of the baseball program is much appreciated by the Pirates Baseball family.

Also at the clinic was former Pirate and current Kansas City Royals minor leaguer Stephan Vidal.  Stephan competed for NCMC from 2014-16 before transferring to NCAA Division I Jackson State University.
