Baseball Closes Fall Season

Pirates Baseball closed their fall schedule of games Tuesday against Missouri Valley College with a split.  In game one, the Pirates took a 6-5 victory before falling 5-3 in game two.  The final fall exhibition record for NCMC was 6-10-3.

 

Final fall stats show transfer sophomore Kendrick Delima leading the way for the Pirates in nearly every offensive category.  In 18 games, Delima hit .400 with 4 home runs and 22 RBI's.  Other top offensive performers were Pharon Pilgrim with a .357 average, Chris Hunter at .316 with 6 runs scored, and Logan Eickhoff at .250 with 11 runs scored.  The team batting average ended at .239.

 

On the mound, freshman Gregoor Moesker tossed 11.2 innings at a 1.54 ERA and a 1.03 WHIP.  Leading the Pirates in strikeouts was sophomore Brandon Whitehead with 16 K's in 15 IP.  Overall, the team finished with a 4.45 ERA.

 

"We have plenty of things to work on over the winter.  The good news is the players have excellent facilities at their disposal to make improvements," commented Coach Suttenfield.

 

Saturday the Pirates will host their annual alumni baseball game at Burleigh Grimes Field.  First pitch is set for 1:00pm.  Come out to see all the current and former Pirates in action.
