Two Road Wins For Pirates Baseball

Two Road Wins For Pirates Baseball

Pirates Baseball got a couple road wins at Missouri Valley College on Thursday evening.  In game one, the Pirates took down the Vikings 5-3.  For game two, the Pirates really go the bats going in the 11-4 victory.  The wins pushed the Pirates record to 4-3-1.

In the two games, the Pirates tallied a total of 16 runs on 16 hits.  Kendrick Delima stayed hot going 3-4 with a pair of doubles.  Nathaniel Bentura, TC East, and Chris Hunter each added a pair of hits as well.  On the mound, ten Pirates' pitchers combined to allow 7 runs, only 3 of which were earned.  "Offensively we put together a lot of solid at-bats.  On the mound, our pitchers really bought in to throwing strikes.  They limited Missouri Valley to just 6 walks.  Defensively, we have to take care of the baseball better.  The 7 errors we committed were just too many," commented Coach Suttenfield.

The next action for the Pirates will again be against Missouri Valley College.  Those home contests will be on Thursday, September 27th with a 5:30pm first pitch.
