Pirates Get Home Win Against MCC-Longview

Pirates Baseball handily defeated MCC-Longview Tuesday by a final score of 11-6.  With the win, NCMC is now 7-23 on the year.

Headlining the offensive attack was Curtis Mitchell who went 2 for 2 with 3 RBI's off the bench.  Quinsly Balentien also had a nice day going 2 for 4 with 3 runs scored.  A total of 8 Pirates combined for 11 hits in the game.  "It was nice to see a balanced attack from our lineup.  There is still room for further improvement but things are going in the right direction," commented Coach Hillerman of the Pirates offense.

Five Pirate pitchers combined to scatter 11 hits while allowing 5 earned runs.  Trae Brownell earned his third win of the season allowing 1 run in 3.2 innings pitched.  "We knew going into the game that it would be a staff effort.  With a region series against Crowder beginning on Thursday, we wanted to ensure pitch counts were kept in check so we are at our best against them," commented Coach Suttenfield.

The 4-game series against #13 ranked Crowder College will get underway at Burleigh Grimes Field Thursday.  The home doubleheader is scheduled for a 1pm first pitch.
