Pirates Sweep St. Charles Following Disappointing Home Loss

Following a disappointing home loss to Graceland University JV on Wednesday, the Pirates Baseball team put together their best day of the season to date when they traveled to Region 16 foe St. Charles Community College on Thursday and got a sweep.  Game one was a close 6-5 win while the second game ended by the run rule at 12-2 after 6 innings.  Overall, the Pirates record is now 4-19 and 3-11 in region play.

The offensive standout against St. Charles was freshman TC East who blasted a homer in each game.  Sophomore pitcher Blake Collister got the win in game one with fellow sophomore Trae Brownell earning the save.  In the second game, freshman Brandon Whitehead was dominant in the complete game victory.

The next action for the Pirates will be a Saturday home doubleheader with St. Charles to conclude the four game series.  First pitch is set for 1:00pm at Burleigh Grimes Field.
