2nd Place Finish For Women’s Golf At State Fair

The NCMC Women's Golf team traveled to Sedalia, MO on Monday and Tuesday to compete in the SFCC Roadrunner Classic held at Sedalia Country Club. The Lady Pirates finished 2nd in the team standings after a Round 1 score of 373 and a final round tally of 371. "Huge thanks to Wayne Ogle at State Fair for hosting a great tournament. The course was in great shape for this time of the year. Cold and windy conditions on Monday for the girls but it did not affect their mentality which was nice to see. Tuesday was a lot better temperature wise and the girls were able to learn from their mistakes Day 1 to post a very respectable team score. In comparison to last week the girls improved their 36-hole team score by about 70 shots so I'm proud of the way they responded and hopefully can keep that momentum going into the important part of our Spring," Quoted Head Coach Nate Swann.

The Lady Pirates were led by Kennedy Dickerson and Haley Baskett both finishing T5th for the event after shooting twin 36-hole scores of 182. Dickerson was consistent throughout the week shooting a 91 on both days. Baskett got to her total shooting a 98 on Monday then improving that total by 14 shots by firing a nice score of 84. Mollee Olszowka posted a 90 on Day 1 and a final round 95 to get to her two-day tally of 95. Skyler Powers rounded out the Lady Pirate scoring with a solid 36-hole score of 195.

The NCMC Women's Golf will be in action next Monday and Tuesday as they head to Fulton, MO to compete in the William Woods Spring Invitational held at Tanglewood Golf Course. Shotgun start times for the Lady Pirates are TBD.
