Women’s Golf Places 3rd At Peru State Behind Dickerson’s 10th Place Finish

The North Central Missouri College Women's Golf Team traveled to Nebraska City, NE over the weekend to compete in the Peru State Fall Invitational held at Table Creek Golf Course. 20-25 MPH wind gusts on Friday proved to be a factor for the entire tournament field but the Pirates were able to post a solid team score of 381. Saturday saw NCMC stay consistent matching the team score from Friday with a tally of 381. Their 36-hole total of 762 placed the Pirates in 3rd place out of 6 teams behind tournament champion Des Moines Area Community College and College of Saint Mary. NCMC finished ahead of the A and B squads of host Peru State College and Doane University.

Kennedy Dickerson led the Pirates with a 10th place finish at the event and earning an individual medal. Dickerson posted a 92 on Friday and fired an 88 on Saturday to get to her two-day total of 180. Mollee Olszowka came around Table Creek with a 90 on Day 1 and a 96 on Day two for her 36-hole total of 186 and finishing in the Top 15 for the event. Skyler Powers played some solid over the weekend and posted a two-day score of 190 after shooting a 93 on Friday and 97 on Saturday. Haley Baskett, Claire Renfro and Riley Moreno rounded out the Pirate 36-hole scoring with Bakett shooting a 202. Renfro improved her Day 2 to Day 1 score by 8 shots and finished with a tally of 214 and Moreno finished with a total of 257. Coach Swann had these remarks after the event, "Another solid week as this group has stayed consistent throughout the Fall but the girls still felt like they left some shots out there over the course of the event. Congratulations to Kennedy on a great tournament and earning a medal in some tough conditions. 25-30 MPH wind gusts on Friday affected all scoring but I'm proud of how the girls responded. Saturday was a good preview of Spring Golf with cold temperatures in the morning but the girls hung in there and played some solid Golf."

The NCMC Women's Golf will now turn their attention to the Metropolitan Community College Wolves Howl Fall Invitational on Wednesday October 11th. Shotgun Start for NCMC will begin at 9:00 A.M. with the tournament being held at Fred Arbanas Golf Course in Kansas City, MO.
