NCMC Men’s And Women’s Golf Compete With Big Schools At KC Cup

The NCMC Men's and Women's golf teams traveled to Smithville, MO last Monday on September 25th-26th to compete in the Kansas City Cup hosted by William Jewell College. The event was played at Paradise Pointe Golf Complex with both rounds being played on "The Outlaw" course.

 

The NCMC Men had a strong showing by posting a team score of 327 on Monday and rebounded well on Tuesday by firing a team score of 321. Their 36-hole total of 648 placed the Pirates in 8th place out of 10 schools with William Jewell winning the team portion of the event with a tally of 580. Jacob Stallo led the Pirate scoring at the tournament earning himself a Top 25 finishing in T21st for the tournament. Stallo shot an 80 on Monday and 76 on Tuesday which included 5 birdies. Will Heller was right behind Stallo finishing in T29th with a 36-hole individual total of 159. Synjin Stockton stayed consistent for the Pirates posting twin scores 83 for the tournament. Cody Smith and Luke Lopes had a 36-hole tally 167 and 178 respectively. Caden Miller rounded out the KC Cup team scoring with a two day total of 198 and improved his Day 2 to Day 1 scoring by 12 shots.

 

While the Men's team was on one side of "The Outlaw" course the NCMC Women's golf team was also in action at the KC Cup. The universities in action on the Women's side were McKendree University, Lewis, Rockhurst, Maryville, Truman State, and Quincy along with host William Jewell College and NCMC. The Pirate women finished in 8th place at the event by shooting a Day 1 team score of 394 but improved by 30 shots on Day 2 with a solid team tally of 364. McKendree University won the team portion of the event with a 36-hole total of 611. Mollee Olszowka led the Pirates in scoring with a 36-hole total of 175. Olszowka posted scores of 91-84 to get to her total and finished in T41st for the event. Kennedy Dickerson posted a 96 on Day 1 and a 90 on Day 2 to get to her two-day total of 186. Haley Baskett was right behind Dickerson with a 188. Skyler Powers and Claire Renfro finished the Pirate scoring with Powers shooting a 213 and Renfro with a total of 216.

 

The NCMC Women's Golf team will be in action next on October 6th-7th as they travel to Nebraska City, NE to compete in the Peru State Fall Invitational held at Table Creek Golf Curse while the Men will be in action next on October 11th to compete in the Simpson Fall Invitational.
