NCMC Women’s Golf Finish 8th At Graceland

The North Central Missouri College Women's Golf team traveled to Maryville, MO on Friday and Saturday to compete in the Graceland Spring Invitational held at Mozingo Lake Golf Course. The Lady Pirates grabbed another 8th place team finish beating out Hawkeye Community College and Peru State College after shooting a team score of 411 on Friday and tally of 418 on Saturday. "Another successful tournament for the girls as they have been very consistent through our first two events which is always a positive. They adjusted nicely to possibly one of the longest courses they will see this Spring."

Lexi Hutton, Haley Baskett, and Kennedy Dickerson led the Lady Pirates in scoring for the event. Hutton remains consistent through the first two events for NCMC posting a two-day score of 196 to finish in T27th. "Lexi played well once again and is starting to find her groove a little bit. She threw in a couple birdies through the tournament as well which was nice to see." Dickerson and Baskett finished in T33rd place after shooting a 36-hole score of 199. "Haley ran into some problems with her driver over the weekend but made up by hitting her 3 wood really well. She was steady once again but will also be the first to tell someone that more improvement can be done. Kennedy was kind of the opposite and hit the driver extremely well over the course of the event. She had a terrific bounce back round on Saturday improving her Day One total by 7 shots.

ReaLee Smith finished in 44th place for the Lady Pirates and Brianna Filley was in 47th place at the conclusion of the event. "The attitude from Brianna and ReaLee was solid but not the scores they wanted over the weekend. They will spend some time on the driving range this week to hopefully fix some minor adjustments and they will be hungry to improve in Fort Dodge."

The NCMC Lady Pirates will be in action next when they travel to Fort Dodge, IA on April 7th and 8th when they compete in the Iowa Central CC Spring Invitational. The 36-hole event will be hosted at Fort Dodge Country Club.
