Spring Break Success for NCMC Women’s Golf

The North Central Missouri College Women's golf team kicked off their Spring campaign as they traveled down to Pottsboro, TX to compete in the Tussle at Tanglewood. The 36-hole tournament was Co-hosted by Park University and Mount Mercy University. The Lady Pirates were the only Junior College represented in the field finished in 8th place at the conclusion of the event and was able to beat out Doane College and Ottawa University. Day one action saw the Pirates post a team tally of 420 and improved on that total in the final round with a team score of 409.

 

Lexi Hutton led the Lady Pirates at the event placing 40th with a 36-hole score of 197. "Lexi had a solid tournament to kick off our Spring Season and will give her some confidence for Graceland this weekend. She was in the middle of the pack with some solid competition and outside of 4 holes for the tournament really played some solid golf."

 

Kennedy Dickerson was right behind Hutton posting a two-day tally of 199 and placing in T41st. Other Lady Pirate scores for the event were Haley Baskett (205), ReaLee Smith (228), and Brianna Filley (260).

 

"This was a great event for the girls to see excellent tournament competition to open the Spring. The girls know exactly what they need to work on and I'm excited to see them progress when we travel to Maryville this weekend."
