NCMC Women’s Golf Claims Graceland Team Title

The North Central Missouri College Women's Golf team traveled to Lamoni, IA on Thursday to compete in the Graceland Fall Invitational at Lamoni Golf and Country Club. The Tournament turned into a dual between Graceland and NCMC due to numbers in the field. However, the Lady Pirates turned in their best score of the Fall thus far with an 18-hole team tally of 378. ReaLee Smith was the individual champion on Thursday shooting a solid round of 87. "I was really happy with ReaLee's performance at Graceland. She had a solid game plan prior to the event and is starting to find some consistency with the driver. I really like where she is at with her game right now."

Lexi Hutton was the Runner-Up at the tournament shooting her best round of the fall with a 93. "Lexi came in with a much better attitude this week and I hope this will give her the confidence that has been missing this Fall. She ran into a little trouble on #9 on the front side but outside of that did a great job of playing consistent stress free golf. I was very pleased with her performance yesterday. Kennedy Dickerson also fired her best round of the Fall coming around the 18-hole layout with a score of 96. "Hats off to Kennedy for posting her best round of the fall along with ReaLee and Lexi. She will be the first to tell someone that she missed a few opportunities specifically with putting but that is an easy fix and she is determined to improve off that which is pleasing to see as a coach." Haley Baskett and Brianna Filley rounded out the Lady Pirate scoring on Thursday with Baskett placing 6th with a score of 102 and Filley finishing in 7th place with a 112. "Haley and Brianna played just fine but they will tell you that it was grind. Haley Is hitting the driver great so far we just have to clean up her iron play and really focusing on improving her greens in regulation. Brianna outside of two bad holes hit the ball as well as anyone in the field. She ran into a few problems around the greens but hit the driver really well. Even though they did not play their best golf I was very impressed with the attitude and positivity they brought to the tournament."

The NCMC Women's Golf will now to turn their attention to the Simpson Fall Invitational on September 21st held at Indianola Country Club in Indianola, IA.
