Lady Pirates Rise To 7th In Latest NJCAA Poll After Dominating Southeast CC

In a dominant performance, North Central Missouri College women's basketball secured a convincing 95-48 victory over Southeast Community College on Saturday.  With the win, the Lady Pirates are now 22-4 on the year and have risen to 7th in the latest NJCAA DII poll.  Their next action will be a home matchup on Wednesday with Moberly Area Community College.

 

Tori Meinecke set the tone for North Central Missouri with a flawless shooting performance, going 5-for-5 from the field. Her 12 points, coupled with 5 rebounds, demonstrated both efficiency and effectiveness in the paint. Meinecke's presence on both ends of the court contributed significantly to the team's success.

 

Nateonia Russell facilitated the offense with an impressive 7 assists. Russell's all-around performance extended to the defensive end, where she grabbed 6 rebounds and recorded a steal.

 

Jessica Reeter continued to be the team's leading scorer, netting a team high 17 points. Her sharpshooting from beyond the arc, making 5-of-8 three-point attempts, showcased her ability to stretch the floor. Reeter's defensive contributions, including 7 rebounds, added to the team's overall performance.

 

Bailey Fleming, Mary Copeland, and Abbi Fountain were a productive trio, collectively contributing 22 points and 22 rebounds. Copeland's 12 points and 7 rebounds highlighted her impact in the paint, while Fleming and Fountain provided scoring and rebounding stability.

 

The bench players, including A'Myah Bankston, Gladys Brown, and Oliviya Tinoco, made valuable contributions, combining for 22 points.
