Missouri Valley JV Proves No Match For 8th Ranked Lady Pirates

In a spirited contest, the 8th ranked Lady Pirates emerged victorious with a well-rounded performance, defeating Missouri Valley College JV with a final score of 97-46. The starting lineup, led by Tori Meinecke, displayed impressive offensive efficiency and defensive prowess, setting the tone for the team's success.  With the win, NCMC is now 17-4 with their next test coming on the road Wednesday against Southeast CC.

 

Meinecke showcased her scoring ability, contributing 12 points, including accurate shooting from both the field and the free-throw line. Nateonia Russell, Jessica Reeter, and Bailey Fleming also played crucial roles, combining for 27 points and demonstrating their versatility on the offensive end.

 

The team's bench proved to be a valuable asset, with A'Myah Bankston making a significant impact with 15 points, displaying a scoring touch from beyond the arc. Gladys Brown contributed 9 points, displaying her scoring ability and efficiency from the free-throw line.

 

LaKorria Brown had an outstanding performance, leading the team in scoring with 19 points off the bench. Her remarkable shooting accuracy, especially from three-point range, played a pivotal role in the Lady Pirate's offensive success.

 

Defensively, the team demonstrated cohesion and determination, securing rebounds and limiting their opponents' second-chance opportunities. Mary Copeland pulled down 4 rebounds for the Lady Pirates, contributing to the overall rebounding effort of 39 for NCMC.  She also tallied 3 blocks in the game.
