4th Ranked Lady Pirates Outlast KCKCC In Overtime Thriller

In a high-scoring and tightly contested matchup, the 4th ranked NCMC women's basketball team triumphed in overtime over Kansas City Kansas Community College with a final score of 89-80. The win moves the team's record to 10-1 ahead of a Wednesday road contest with Highland CC.

 

Jessica Reeter led the scoring for the Lady Pirates, delivering an outstanding performance by amassing a total of 20 points. Her contribution was crucial, especially from the free-throw line, where she converted 10 of 16 attempts. Reeter's offensive efficiency played a significant role in securing the victory.

 

Tori Meinecke and Nateonia Russell were instrumental in both scoring and facilitating the offense. Meinecke contributed 16 points, displaying her prowess from the free-throw line by going 8-for-12. Russell demonstrated all-around play with 4 points but notably recorded 6 assists and grabbed 8 rebounds, showcasing her impact on both ends of the floor.

 

The depth of NCMC, especially the bench, proved instrumental in the win.  Gladys Brown and Oliviya Tinoco came off the bench to provide significant support, contributing 14 and 13 points, respectively. Brown's accuracy from the field was noteworthy, going 6 for 9.

 

North Central Missouri showed impressive shooting statistics, maintaining a field goal percentage of 41.0% and a commendable 61.5% from the free-throw line. Their 35.0% accuracy from beyond the arc also contributed significantly to their victory.

 

KCKCC fought hard, led by Jada Johnson's impressive 36-point outing to lead all scorers, but NCMC's collective effort and efficient scoring sealed their victory in this high-scoring matchup.
