4th Ranked Lady Pirates Down Missouri Valley JV 63-44 At Home

Despite a slow start that saw the 4th ranked Lady Pirates fall behind early and face a 6 point deficit after the first quarter, the team fought hard and secured a 63-44 victory to improve to 9-1 for the season.  Next up for Coach Croy's team will be road test Saturday at Kansas City Kansas CC.  NCMC defeated the Blue Devils earlier this week by a final score of 51-45 and will be looking to sweep the season series.

Mary Copeland emerged as the top scorer for NCMC against the visiting Vikings, demonstrating remarkable efficiency by sinking 8 out of 11 field goals and totaling 18 points. Copeland was a dominant force on the boards too, collecting six rebounds and making a significant impact on both ends of the court.

LaKorria Brown contributed 10 points off the bench, displaying her prowess from beyond the arc with two successful three-pointers. Brown's offensive performance provided crucial points for the team, complementing Copeland's efforts.

Jessica Reeter and Bailey Fleming encountered challenges finding their shooting rhythm, combining for just 2 out of 10 field goals. However, the team remained competitive with a collective shooting percentage of 42.1% from the field.

Despite their efforts, the Lady Pirate's shooting from the three-point range at 16.7% remained a challenge throughout the game, impacting their ability to put the game out of reach early.
