Lady Pirates Fall In Matchup Of Highly Ranked NJCAA DII Teams

NCMC women's basketball, ranked #4 in the latest NJCAA DII poll, took its first loss of the season Monday night when they dropped a 76-57 final score at 2nd ranked Johnson County CC.  The loss makes NCMC's record 7-1 ahead of tonight's home matchup with Kansas City Kansas CC.  The tipoff is set for 5:30pm.

The Lady Pirates were held to a season low 57 points despite a nice scoring night from LaKorria Brown off the bench.  She totaled 15 points on 6-10 shooting.  Starter Jessica Reeter also chipped in 15 points, 10 of which came from the charity stripe.

NCMC trailed by just 3 points at halftime but got outscored 27-10 in the 3rd quarter.  That deficit was too much to overcome in the end.  Johnson County dominated the boards pulling down 39 rebounds to NCMC's 17.

Shooting the ball, NCMC was especially cold from beyond the arc.  The team went 4-25 from 3-point land and shot 31.5% from the field overall.
