Lady Pirates Rise To #4 In The NJCAA DII Poll And Stay Unbeaten By Downing John Wood CC

In an exciting clash against John Wood Community College, 4th ranked North Central Missouri College emerged victorious with an 80-57 win, showcasing their dominance on the court.  They maintained their perfect record by moving to 7-0.

 

Bailey Fleming led the offensive charge for NCMC, demonstrating an exceptional shooting display with a team-high 18 points. Fleming was on fire from beyond the arc, connecting on an impressive 6-of-8 three-point attempts, contributing significantly to the team's offensive output.

 

Jessica Reeter and Mary Copeland also played pivotal roles in securing the win, providing valuable contributions on both ends of the floor. Reeter displayed her shooting prowess, tallying 10 points, including two three-pointers. Copeland contributed 9 points and displayed her versatility by adding four rebounds to the team's cause.

 

Nateonia Russell was a key facilitator for the Lady Pirates, recording nine assists, along with five rebounds and five points, exhibiting her playmaking abilities throughout the game.

 

Abbi Fountain made a notable impact off the bench, registering 9 points and an impressive 13 rebounds, showcasing her presence on the boards, which proved crucial in maintaining NCMC's control of the game.

 

Defensively, the Lady Pirates were impressive, limiting John Wood to 25.8% shooting from the field and showcasing their strength in rebounding, securing a total of 52 rebounds compared to their opponent's 31.

 

North Central Missouri's collective effort on both ends of the court and their efficiency in executing offensive plays were key factors in securing a resounding victory against John Wood CC.  Next up will be a Sunday showdown in the Ketcham Community Center with Kansas City Kansas CC.  Tipoff is at 2pm.
