Reeter's Hot Shooting Leads NCMC's Comeback Win

Despite a four-point halftime deficit, NCMC women's basketball was able to defeat Southwestern CC 77-62 in front of a packed home crowd in the Ketcham Community Center on Tuesday night.  With the win, NCMC is now 2-0 on the young season with their next test coming at home Friday against Des Moines Area CC.  Tipoff is set for 7:30pm.

In the starting lineup for North Central Missouri College:

 

Tori Meinecke played a vital role in the team's success, contributing a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. She was a strong presence in the paint, adding 2 assists, 1 steal, and 2 blocks.

 

Nateonia Russell had a solid all-around game, contributing 5 points, 4 rebounds, and 6 assists. She was also a defensive standout, recording 3 steals and blocking 1 shot.

 

Jessica Reeter was the top scorer for North Central Missouri College, lighting up the scoreboard with an impressive 28 points. She was particularly deadly from beyond the arc, sinking 6 three-pointers. Reeter also secured 9 rebounds, dished out 7 assists, and had 1 steal.

 

Bailey Fleming chipped in with 3 points and 4 rebounds. She also contributed 2 assists and 2 steals.

 

Mary Copeland added 12 points, making her presence felt on both ends of the court. She grabbed 5 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 blocks.

 

Off the bench:

 

Gladys Brown made a valuable contribution with 5 points and 2 rebounds. She also added 1 assist and 1 steal.

 

LaKorria Brown added 3 points and 3 rebounds, along with 1 assist and 1 steal.

 

Oliviya Tinoco was efficient, scoring 7 points and contributing 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.

 

North Central Missouri College's performance was characterized by strong team play, as they outrebounded their opponent 50-41 and had 21 assists. They were also aggressive on defense, recording 10 steals and blocking 5 shots. Their well-rounded effort led to a hard-fought come from behind victory.
