Lady Pirates Score 115 Points In Season Opening Victory

The game between NCMC women's basketball and Central Community College-Columbus was a high-scoring lopsided affair. The Lady Pirates started their season 1-0 with a dominating 115-36 victory in front of their home crowd on Saturday.  Next up will be another home game for NCMC.  They will host Southwestern CC with a 5:30pm tip on Tuesday.

 

In the starting lineup for North Central Missouri College:

 

Tori Meinecke was a force to be reckoned with, contributing 6 points. She was especially effective from beyond the arc, sinking 2 three-pointers. She also pulled down 8 rebounds, dished out 1 assist, and had 1 steal.

 

Nateonia Russell had a standout performance, leading the starters with 14 points. She was efficient, making 6 of her 9 field goal attempts and also showcasing her passing skills with 4 assists. Russell was a defensive standout, recording 9 steals and blocking 1 shot.

 

Jessica Reeter was another key contributor, adding 12 points. She demonstrated her three-point shooting prowess, sinking 2 of 5 attempts from beyond the arc. Additionally, she hauled in 4 rebounds, dished out 8 assists, and had 2 steals.

 

Bailey Fleming also had a strong showing with 12 points, making the most of her perimeter shooting by sinking 4 three-pointers. She contributed 2 assists and secured 2 rebounds.

 

Mary Copeland was consistent in her scoring, adding 12 points. She was a strong presence on the boards, grabbing 4 rebounds. Copeland also had 2 assists.

 

Off the bench, A'Myah Bankston was the team's leading scorer with 15 points. She made 6 of her 7 field goal attempts, including 3 three-pointers. Bankston also added 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal.

 

LaKorria Brown contributed 12 points, making 4 of her 14 field goal attempts, and she was particularly effective from beyond the arc, sinking 3 three-pointers. She also contributed 6 rebounds and 3 assists.

 

Oliviya Tinoco chipped in with 8 points, demonstrating her three-point shooting ability by making 2 three-pointers. She also had 2 rebounds and 1 steal.

 

In total, North Central Missouri College dominated the game, shooting at an impressive 53.7% from the field and 47.4% from beyond the arc. Their defense was strong, recording 21 steals and blocking 2 shots. The team's well-rounded performance led to a convincing season opening victory.
