A Pair Of Wins In Florida For 17th Ranked Lady Pirates

It was a successful Florida trip for NCMC women's basketball.  They won a pair of games on their annual trek south to improve to 10-3 at the winter break.  On Friday, the Lady Pirates bested Palm Beach State College 83-68.  The University of Fort Lauderdale was no match on Saturday when NCMC posted an 83-50 victory.

Against Palm Beach State, Nora Ford was a force to be reckoned with as she totaled a season high 32 points on 13-22 shooting.  Also in double figures were starters Maci Moore with 17 points and Kennadie Crowe with 13 points.  Tori Meinecke contributed nicely off the bench with 5 points and 5 rebounds.

Crowe paced a balanced attack against Fort Lauderdale with 19 points.  Fellow starters Moore (15 pts), Ford (13 pts) and Ianara Morbidoni (10 pts) also scored double digits.  NCMC used a stifling second half defense to secure the victory, allowing just 17 second half points.  As a team, the Lady Pirates shot 50.7% from the field in the win.
