18th Ranked Lady Pirates Have Smooth Sailing At Ellsworth CC

NCMC women's basketball, ranked #18 in the latest NJCAA DII poll, easily handled Ellsworth CC on the road Tuesday night to improve to 4-2 on the year.  The 101-36 win marked the second time this season that NCMC has reached the 100-point plateau and improved there average points per game to 79.7, 17th best in the nation.

 

Leading that offensive charge against the host Lady Panthers was returning 1st Team All-American Nora Ford with 28 points.  She also dished out 10 assists for her first double-double of the year.  She was also just a single rebound short of a triple-double, a feat she has never accomplished at NCMC.  Ford led the team in all three categories Tuesday night.

 

Four other Lady Pirates reached double figures in scoring, led by Ianara Morbidoni's 18 points.  Mary Copeland and Maci Moore added 15 points apiece and Kennadie Crowe totaled 10 points.

 

Next up will be a home matchup with Park Unversity JV on Thursday.  The theme for the night's games will be "Red Alert" and all fans are encouraged to sport their best RED NCMC apparel.
