Mixed Results For 15th Ranked Lady Pirates In KCKCC Classic

Women's basketball split a pair of games over the weekend in the KCKCC Classic.  Friday, points were difficult to come by for NCMC as they fell to host Kansas City Kansas CC 64-49.  The matchup was a battle of NJCAA ranked teams with the Blue Devils holding the 18th spot in the poll and NCMC at 15th.  The Lady Pirates rebounded on Saturday to take down Jefferson College 60-51, which improved the team's record to 3-2 for the year.  Their next action will be a road game at Ellsworth CC on Tuesday.

Against KCKCC, Nora Ford led the scoring with 19 points.  She went 3-5 from beyond the arc and was a perfect 4-4 from the free throw line.  Kennadie Crowe poured in 13 points for the Lady Pirates who were outscored in every quarter by the Blue Devils.

In Saturday's win, Ianara Morbidoni's 11 points coupled with Ford (16 pts) and Crowe (13 pts) proved to be enough offense for NCMC.  Scoring an efficient 7 points was Tori Meinecke off the bench.  She went 3-4 from the field and pulled down a team high 11 rebounds.

NCMC's next home action will be Thursday when they take on Park University JV.  The game theme is "Red Alert" and fans are encouraged to wear their favorite RED NCMC apparel.
