In front of a packed house on opening night in the Ketcham Community Center, NCMC Lady Pirates basketball took an easy 89-69 win on Wednesday night against Culver Stockton College JV. The Lady Pirates, ranked #6 in the NJCAA preseason poll, next action will be a home matchup with 11th ranked Iowa Western CC on Saturday in the Ketcham Community Center. NCMC fans will surely be in for a high intensity battle in this early season clash of ranked opponents with hopes of a national title.
It was no surprise that returning 1st team All-American Nora Ford led NCMC in scoring with 32 points. Fellow sophomore Kennadie Crowe posted a 20-point scoring night plus pulled down 5 rebounds. Sophomore transfer Ianara Morbidoni netted 21 points in her NCMC debut. As a team, NCMC shot 56.9% from the field and only committed 12 turnovers.
