Nora Ford Named NJCAA 1st Team All-American

The National Junior College Athletic Association has announced the Division II women's basketball All-American honorees. North Central Missouri College had sophomore Nora Ford earn 1st Team honors. She led the Lady Pirates to a 6th place showing at the recent national tournament held in Port Huron, MI plus was part of that all-tournament team.

Ford posted 16.9 points per game on 41% shooting from the field this past season.  She also averaged 5 assists per game.  Head Coach Jenni Croy had these comments about her team's honoree.  "Nora is one of the hardest working players to ever come through our program. It's great to see her hard work pay off.  She is in the gym daily putting in extra work always striving to make herself and her team better.  We are extremely proud of her and can't wait to see her game continue to grow."

Nora is the second Lady Pirate to garner 1st Team All-American status in program history.  The first was NCMC Athletics Hall of Famer Stephanie Beason back in the 2003-04 season.  In total, NCMC women's basketball has had five All-Americans including back to back selections for Cassie Hunt (3rd team 2007-08, 2nd team 2008-09), also in the Pirates Hall of Fame.  Other honorees included Samone Reddit (2nd team 2013-14) and Kortlyn Rounkles (3rd team 2019-20).

In addition to Ford's All-American distinction, she was the NJCAA Region XVI player of the year for 2021-22 which followed up her 2nd Team All-Region award from her freshman campaign.
