17th Ranked Lady Pirates Close Out Regular Season At 22-5

The 17th ranked Lady Pirates closed out their regular season schedule by splitting a pair of road games in Nebraska over the weekend.  On Saturday, NCMC took down North Platte CC 61-54.  The Lady Knights had been riding a 7-game winning streak and were receiving votes in the latest NJCAA poll.  On Sunday, NCMC came out on the short end of a 78-75 final score to snap their own 11-game winning streak.  Heading into the NJCAA DII Region XVI tournament, the Lady Pirates hold a 22-5 overall mark and are the #1 seed courtesy of their undefeated regular season region record.

With the regular season concluded, the Lady Pirates had 4 players averaging double figures in scoring: Nora Ford (16.7ppg), Kennadie Crowe (14.7ppg), Angel Wiggins (11.9ppg) and Maci Moore (11.6ppg).  They will look to use that balanced attack to take home the region title and move forward in the postseason.  By virtue of their #1 seed, NCMC awaits the winner of St. Louis CC and Metropolitan CC semifinal for the region title game.  That game will be contested on Friday, February 25th at 5:00pm in Jefferson City.
