Lady Pirates Keep Rolling

Lady Pirates basketball, currently ranked 18th in the latest NJCAA DII women's poll, took a pair of easy wins in their latest matchups.  On Saturday, they easily downed NJCAA Region 16 foe Metropolitan CC 97-47 on the road.  Monday the home fans got to see them dismantle Graceland University JV 110-44.

Against Metropolitan, starters Angel Wiggins (21 points), Kennadie Crowe (19 points) and Nora Ford (18 points) led the way to victory.  NCMC's stifling defense also keyed the victory, holding MCC to just 37 total shots in the contest.  NCMC shot an outstanding 54.8% in the game.

Points were easy to come by again for NCMC against Graceland JV on Tuesday.  All five starters reached double figures plus Toya Bethel added 16 points off the bench.  As a team, NCMC shot 56% from the field and forced 38 Graceland turnovers.

Next action for the Lady Pirates (13-4 overall) will be Region 16 showdown with St. Louis CC.  That road matchup is set to tip off at 1:00pm.
