Women's Basketball Takes Down 6th Ranked KCKCC

NCMC Lady Pirates basketball avenged an early season defeat on Saturday when they took down 6th ranked Kansas City Kansas Community College 78-69 at the Ketcham Center.  NCMC, ranked 16th in the NJCAA DII poll, utilized a balanced attack to secure the victory.

Four Lady Pirates scored in double figures led by sophomore Kennadie Crowe's 18 points.  Fellow starters Nora Ford (14 points), Maci Moore (12 points) and Jasmine Taylor (10 points) all had key contributions to the victory.

NCMC used a stifling defense in the first half to hold a 32-23 lead at the intermission.  The game did tighten in the second half but NCMC used excellent free throw shooting (27-38) to keep the Lady Blue Devils at bay.  KCKCC committed 29 fouls in the game to NCMC's 18.

Next action for NCMC was set to be a road matchup with Fort Scott CC on December 6th but that game has been cancelled and moved to January 5th due to COVID 19 quarantine protocols.  The Lady Pirates will next hit the road to Highland CC on December 13th before their annual Florida trip.
