Lady Pirates Basketball closed out their regular season with a 73-71 victory over Metropolitan Community College on Saturday. The road win completed a perfect Region 16 campaign and moved the 7th ranked squad to a 15-4 record.
A balanced scoring attack from NCMC proved to be victorious, with four Lady Pirates in double figures. That scoring was led by freshman Maci Moore's 19 points. She finished the year as NCMC's leading scorer, averaging 16 points per game.
The depleted MCC roster, featuring only 6 players, was led by the game's high scorer Mackenzi Callaway with 37 points. She and Arrianna Smith had both fouled out by the contest's end, leaving the Wolves with just four players on the court.
The next action for NCMC will be the NJCAA Region 16 championship, which the Lady Pirates will host on Saturday, April 3rd at 1:00pm.
