NCMC Lady Pirates basketball took care of business on Saturday when they defeated North Platte CC 75-52. The 19th ranked team in the country improved their season record to 5-2 and will next play on Tuesday when they hit the road to Fort Scott CC.
Three Lady Pirates starters scored in double figures in the victory. Kennedie Kieffer led the way with her best game of the season, pouring in 15 points on 7-9 shooting. Lily Osborn netted 14 points and was a perfect 6-6 from the free throw line. Nora Ford contributed 10 points and doled out 7 assists.
"I was proud of the effort we had on the defensive end, especially with the press. We still didn't rebound well and gave up too many offensive rebounds, but it was good to come out with the win," commented Coach Croy in her postgame interview.
