NCMC women's basketball won a tough road matchup on Saturday when the defeated NJCAA Division I foe Crowder College 86-81. The win moves the 19th ranked Lady Pirates to 2-2 for the year with a road matchup with John Wood CC set for Tuesday.
The win required a comeback from NCMC. The Lady Pirates trailed 44-38 at halftime but outscored the Roughriders by 11 points in the second half. Play in that half also had a lengthy delay due to a tornado warning for Neosho, MO.
Scoring was evenly spread amongst the Lady Pirates with five girls in double figures, led by freshman Maci Moore's 19 points off the bench. Having another nice game was returning 3rd team All-American Kortlyn Rounkles with 18 points.
