Points Aplenty In Lady Pirates Victory

NCMC women's basketball easily improved to 18-8 on Tuesday night when they dismissed Central Methodist University JV 103-60.  With two Region XVI games left on the schedule, the Lady Pirates will look to close the regular season strong ahead of the region tournament.  Currently, NCMC's region record sits at 1-1.

Tuesday marked the first time the Lady Pirates have topped the 100-point plateau this season.  NCMC shot a solid 52% from the field and an even better 58% from behind the arc.  Leading the scoring was Kortlyn Rounkles with 28, her second highest point total of the year.  Also in double figures were Lily Osborn (13pts), Kennedie Kieffer and McKenzie McBee (12pts) and Brittney McKay (10pts).  Kayla Koester added 4 blocked shots off the bench.

Your last chance to see the Lady Pirates at home this season will be their Thursday region matchup with Metropolitan Community College.  The team will be looking to again beat the Wolves and sweep the season series.
