Tough Start To Region Play For Women's Basketball

Lady Pirates basketball took a 74-54 home loss on Saturday against St. Louis Community College.  The game marked the beginning of the NJCAA Region XVI schedule for NCMC.  Remaining on that slate is a road rematch with the Archers on February 22nd plus two matchups against Metropolitan Community College; Saturday, February 8th will be the road matchup with the Wolves and the Lady Pirates will play host on February 20th.

 

NCMC could find no answer for the Archer's Ronne'zja Elliott.  She totaled 31 points for the visitors.  Leading the scoring in defeat for the Lady Pirates was Kortlyn Rounkles with 17 points.  No other Lady Pirate could reach double figures. 

 

NCMC's season record now sits at 13-7 and 0-1 in region play.  St. Louis improved to 6-12 overall and 1-1 in Region XVI.
