Women's basketball took an 81-71 defeat on Saturday when #2 ranked Kansas City Kansas CC came to the Ketcham Community Center.  NCMC, now 12-6 on the year, held a slim 42-41 point lead heading into halftime but could not hold the advantage.  The Lady Pirates were outscored 23-13 in the third quarter leading to defeat.

Kortlyn Rounkles and Brittney McKay were the only Lady Pirates to score in double figures, netting 20 pts and 12 pts respectively.  The Pirates shot just 35.7% from the field in the game and connected on only 1 or 13 three-point attempts.

The next action for the Lady Pirates will be a homecoming matchup with Metropolitan Community College on Wednesday.  This will also mark the start of the team's Region XVI slate of games.
