Friday Win, Saturday Loss For Women's Basketball

Lady Pirates Basketball split their weekend games in the Kansas City Kansas Community College Classic.  On Friday, NCMC defeated Fort Scott CC for the second time this season by the score of 80-41.  Saturday, in a matchup with 4th ranked KCKCC, the Lady Pirates dropped a 77-65 final.

"Friday we put together a solid second half.  I was very pleased with our defense.  We held Fort Scott to 11 points in the second half.  On Saturday, we played a pretty good first half but didn't show up in the first five minutes of the second half.  Against good teams like that, we've got to put together four solid quarters.  I was pleased, however, with how we responded in the fourth quarter of that game," detailed Coach Croy.

Against Fort Scott, Angel Wiggins 16 points off the bench led NCMC's scoring.  Scoring was balanced in the game for the Lady Pirates with four players in double figures.

In the KCK game, Lily Osborn totaled 18 points to lead the way.  The Pirates lacked offensive production off the bench in defeat.  Only 5 of the teams 65 points came from reserves.

Next action for NCMC will be a road trip to Southwestern CC on Wednesday.
