Saturday's women's basketball contest pitted two ranked NJCAA Division II programs as the Pirates, ranked #13, took on St. Louis Community College, ranked #6. The day was won by the Archers as they topped the Pirates 89-65.
"STLCC is a great team. We didn't play our best, and in order to compete with them it's going to take us playing well. Hopefully we get to face them two more times and it only matters if we beat them the last. We just need to keep working hard, and we've got to keep improving," remarked Coach Croy after the loss.
Bright spots for the Lady Pirates came from Sarah Lamp's double-double (16pts, 10 reb) and Maddison Book's 13 points.
Next up for the squad will be a home tilt against Missouri Valley College JV on Thursday, Jan. 18th. The next region action will be at home on the 24th against MCC-Penn Valley.
