Shorthanded Lady Pirates Fall At North Arkansas 80-62

The Lady Pirates fell on the road to North Arkansas College 80-62 on Saturday to close out the regular season with a 20-9 record.  After losing their last 3 contests, the squad looks to right the ship for the Region 16 tournament when they take on MCC-Penn Valley in the opening game.

"The girls played hard. I thought McKinley Hurley had the best game of her career and played with a lot of heart. We rested Sarah Lamp Saturday in hopes of getting her back for the region tournament," remarked Coach Croy.

Hurley led the scoring for the Lady Pirates with 25 points.  She also grabbed 10 rebounds in the losing effort.  Kendey Eaton and Jami Nickerson each added 12 points.

Next up for the Lady Pirates is MCC-Penn Valley in the opening round of the Region 16 tournament.  In the regular season, the Pirates won 70-38 and 96-90 over the Lady Scouts. The tournament will be held at Lincoln University in Jefferson City, MO, with the first game being played Thursday at 3:00pm.
