Softball split a road doubleheader at Southwestern CC on Thursday. In the high scoring affairs, NCMC fell 18-14 in the opener before taking game two 10-7. NCMC is now 21-18 with Crowder College coming to Trenton for a doubleheader on Saturday. NCMC will look to improve their current Region 16 record, which sits at 5-13.
Shortstop Brookelynn Becker had a nice offensive day for the Pirates in Creston. She contributed a 3-run homer in the opener and a solo shot in game two. Earning the victory in the pitcher's circle for NCMC was Maeve Lavoy. She tossed a complete game allowing 7 runs and striking out 10. Lavoy's record this season is 8-6.
