Pirate's Softball Salvages One Game On Region Road Trip

Softball went 1-3 this past weekend in road Region 16 matchups.  On Saturday, NCMC was defeated twice by Jefferson College 11-0 & 8-0.  Sunday, St. Charles CC downed the Pirates 6-0 before NCMC rebounded with a 17-6 win to conclude the road trip.  Overall, the Pirates hold a 23-23 record and sit at 9-11 in region play.

 

In the three losses, NCMC managed just 7 total hits.  That all changed in the final game with the team pounding out 19 hits in the rout of St. Charles CC.  Leading the way was Gracie McKinney who went 3-4 with a home run.  Leadoff Chloe Bell and speedster Emma Angel each went 3-5 with 3 RBIs.

 

Getting the win in the pitcher's circle was Maeve Lavoy.  She scattered 6 hits over 6 innings pitched and allowed 2 earned runs.  She struck out 1.

 

Next up will be a 4-game road series at Crowder College on April 25-26.  The Roughriders currently hold a record of 32-14.
