Softball took a pair of road losses on Monday when they traveled to Ottumwa, IA, to take on Indian Hills CC. Final scores of the games were 8-1 and 15-3, which drops the team's season record to 22-20. Next up for the Pirates will be Saturday when they travel to Jefferson College for a Region 16 doubleheader.
Lauren Krohn took the loss in game one. She threw a complete game and allowed 8 earned runs including one home run. Offensively, the Pirates managed just 4 hits with Emma Angel scoring the Pirates only run in the 6th inning.
Indian Hills jumped out to a 6-0 lead on the Pirates in the 1st inning of game two and didn't look back. Maeve Lavoy took the loss, allowing 11 earned runs over 4 innings pitched. Rylie Boyer went 2-3 from the leadoff spot for the Pirates and Angel drove in a pair of runs with a 5th inning double.
