Pirate's softball took a pair of run rule losses on Wednesday when they played at Iowa Western CC.  Final scores were 12-1 and 16-6, which dropped NCMC's season record to 4-4.  Next up will the Pirates home opener on Sunday when they host Region 16 foe Jefferson College for a 1:00pm doubleheader.

Iowa Western's offense scored early and often in each game to set the tone against the Pirates.  Maeve Lavoy and Lauren Krohn each took pitching losses in their respective starts.  Krohn did have a nice day at the plate, going 3-3 with 2 runs scored.  Caragan Baker scored a pair of runs as well, both in the second game.
