Pirate's softball started their spring season by going 3-1 over the weekend in Harrison, AR. On Friday, NCMC shut out North Arkansas College twice to secure 12-0 and 8-0 victories. Saturday, it was a 14-7 win over Central Community College-Columbus before falling to Southwest Tennessee CC 9-7.
Getting a pair of wins in the pitching circle was freshman Maeve Lavoy. She tossed 10.1 innings and allowed 7 earned runs while striking out 8. Going 1-1 for the weekend was Lauren Krohn. She surrendered 9 earned runs over 11 IP, striking out 11.
Chloe Bell knocked NCMC's only home run over the weekend and went 6-9 with 7 runs scored overall. NCMC displayed a potent team attack, batting .422 with 41 runs scored over 23.2 innings.
Next up will be a road doubleheader with Kansas City Kansas CC on Sunday, Feb. 26th. First pitch is set for 1:00pm.
