Two Shutout Losses For Lady Pirates At 17th Ranked Crowder

Lady Pirates softball took a couple shutout defeats, 10-0 and 8-0, on Sunday when they opened Region XVI play at 17th ranked Crowder College.  NCMC, now 7-3 overall, will next play Wednesday on the road at State Fair Community College.  They will be looking to improve their 0-2 region record.

Crowder pitching got the best of the Lady Pirates.  NCMC was only able to collect one hit on the trip, a single by McKenzie Brown in the opener.  Sydney Ward tossed the no-hitter for the Roughriders in the second game, allowing only one walk to Josephine Deen.

Lady Pirates defense had its issues on the road as well.  Of Crowder's 18 runs scored, only 6 were earned.  NCMC committed 5 errors in the doubleheader.
