Lady Pirates Split Home Opening Series

Lady Pirates softball split their home opening series for the 2020 season against Ellsworth Community College.  Game one went to NCMC 7-5 before they dropped the finale 4-2.  The Lady Pirates victory marked the 100th softball win to NCMC Head Coach Steve Richman.

In the win, McKenzie Brown tossed a complete game for the Lady Pirates, racking up 5 strikeouts.  Providing the offensive power were Jaele Barber, Kyla Johnson, and Jentry Copple who each knocked home runs.  Overall, the Lady Pirates pounded out 13 hits in victory.

Taking the loss in the second game was Gabriella Stage.  The Pirates were able to collect 10 total hits but the clutch ones did not come.  They left 15 runners on base in defeat.

NCMC, now 7-1 for the year, next travel to Crowder College Sunday to open Region XVI play.  The Roughriders are currently ranked #17 in the latest NJCAA DI Softball Poll.
