Lady Pirates Softball took a pair of home scrimmage games on Tuesday against Southwestern Community College. Final scores were 8-4 and 21-6. NCMC concludes their fall slate of games on Sunday when they travel to Northwest Missouri State to take on the Bearcats and Graceland University.
The opening game was tied 4-4 in the bottom of the 5th inning until sophomore Josephine Deen singled to drive in a pair. Those runs proved to be all the Lady Pirates would need for victory. McKenzie Brown earned the win for NCMC in the pitching circle.
Game two saw plenty of runs. NCMC put together 23 hits in their offensive outburst. Nine runs scored by the Lady Pirates in the 3rd inning proved too much for SWICC to overcome. Gabby Stage earned the win allowing three runs over three innings pitched.
