Split For Lady Pirates Softball

Lady Pirates Softball split a road doubleheader with Southwestern Community College on Wednesday.  NCMC opened with a 5-4 victory before falling 5-3 in the second game.  The Lady Pirates are now 3-3 in the fall scrimmage season.

 

Tori Young provided the offensive start the Pirates needed in game one with a double and a run scored in the second inning.  Young ended game one with three total hits.  McKenzie Brown also chipped in three hits for the NCMC attack. 

 

Gabrielle Stage earned the win from the pitching circle.  She tossed four scoreless innings allowing just four hits while striking out two.

 

In game two, the Lady Pirates outhit the Spartans twelve to seven but could not push across enough runs for the sweep.  Four NCMC hitters collected two hits.

 

Taking the loss for NCMC was McKenzie Brown who threw six innings allowing five runs on seven hits.  She also struck out eight.

 

Next on the schedule for NCMC is a home matchup with Southwestern on October 2nd.
