Sophomore Day Success For The Lady Pirates

Lady Pirates Softball got a pair of resounding victories on Sophomore Day against Graceland University JV.  The final scores of 13-2 and 19-3 were "good wins in bad conditions" according to Coach Richman.

The weather was certainly cold and windy but that didn't cool the Lady Pirates offense.  Leading the way in the doubleheader were the teams two sophomores.  Makayla Lamphier went 4-6 on the day with 4 runs and 5 RBIs.  Breann O'Riley went 3-6 with 3 runs and 3 RBIs.  Each also had a homerun in the second game after a nice ceremony to acknowledge their efforts for the softball program.  "I am very proud of our sophomores and the leadership they have provided our team.  The girls are really playing well together now and these last two series have gotten us back on track," commented Richman.

The next action for the 29-12 Lady Pirates squad will be road games Friday at St. Charles Community College.  NCMC handled St. Charles at home earlier in the year with 10-0 and 12-1 wins.
