Road Split For Lady Pirates Softball

Lady Pirates softball earned a road split with MCC-Maple Woods on Thursday to bring their Region 16 record to 1-3 on the year.  After dropping the opening game 5-4, the team rebounded to close out a 9-5 victory in the second game.

In game one, Kaitlyn Marsh took the loss while going the distance.  The Lady Pirates held a 4-1 lead going into the bottom of the last inning but could not seal the victory.  Top offensive performers were right fielder Melanie Roberts who clubbed a homer while going 2 for 3 with 2 runs and an RBI.  Macie Bohannon went 2-4 as well.

Game two saw a better offensive performance from the Lady Pirates.  The team totaled 18 hits in the contest including homeruns from Georgia Gibler and Alex Miller.  The winning pitcher in the game was Miller as well.

With today's home games against St. Charles Community College cancelled due to rain, the next action for the Lady Pirates will be on the road for their spring trip in Myrtle Beach, SC.  The team is set to play seven games from Sunday through Wednesday.
