Pirates 8th At Iowa Central Spring Invite

The North Central Missouri College Men's Golf team traveled to Fort Dodge, IA to compete in the Iowa Central Spring Invitational on April 7th and 8th. The 36-hole event was held at the Fort Dodge Country Club. The Pirates competed well against a solid tournament field finishing in 8th place in the 11 team field. NCMC shot an opening round 324 and a final round score of 325 to get to their final tally 649. A 22 shot improvement from the Graceland Spring Invitational.

Kyle Steel and Jacob Stallo led the Pirates in scoring both days. Steel shot 83-75 for over the two days while Stallo posted scores of 76-83 and finishing 34th place in the 77 player field. "Huge thanks to Coach Graewin at Iowa Central for putting together a great event. Another excellent tournament for us and the guys are starting to find a little bit of consistency. Still far from their best stuff but they are still trending in the right direction. Kyle and Jacob played some solid golf on Friday and Saturday but still left some shots out there. All the guys had bright spots at the event and are really close to playing to their full potential, we just haven't put it all together yet on the same day. Big improvement for the guys though and should give them confidence for the rest of the Spring."

Other Pirate scores for the event were Austin Lasher (167), Cam Bates (169) and Mason Moncrief (174). The Pirates will be in action next on Monday, April 10th competing in the Southeastern CC Blackhawk Spring Invitational held at Burlington Golf Club in Burlington, Iowa.
